Bhavan's S. Ramakrishnan Centre of Excellence (BSRCE) at Shri. K. S. Unni Navathi Auditorium, Swami Vivekananda Sarva Dharma Maitri Pratishthan. The facility was officially inaugurated on 8th July 2026 by Shri Suresh Gopi, the Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Tourism, Government of India. The event marks a significant milestone in Bhavan's commitment towards learner-centered, competency-based, technology-enabled, and value-oriented approaches to education through continuous professional development.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including Principals and Bhavan's Management of Thrissur and other Kendras from Kerala and Coimbatore, academic experts, management personnel, government officials, and members of the press. The establishment of this Centre of Excellence aims to bridge the gaps in implementing the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and serves as a hub for collaborative ecosystem development.
The function concluded with an official vote of thanks delivered by Dr. P. Indira Devi.
The event was followed by a one-day workshop for Principals and Heads of Schools on “Training Need Analysis (TNA)” using Classroom Observation Data and Developing School Training Calendar by Dr. Arunima Mazumdar, Director Training, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, in the new state-of-the-art training facility on the 3rd floor of Bhavan's Thrissur Kendra.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Thrissur Kendra, in association with Learnware i Edutech, successfully conducted JAGRAN 2026 Phase-2 – Session 1 (Malayalam) titled ‘Kuyilamma’ on 18th July 2026 at Bhavan’s S. Ramakrishnan Centre of Excellence, Sarva Dharma Maitri Pratishthan, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Thrissur Kendra. The programme was organized as a Teacher Enrichment Programme for Malayalam teachers of CBSE schools in Thrissur.
The session was led by Sri. Unni Ammayambalam, Sahitya Akademi Award winner, whose insightful and inspiring presentations enriched the participants with fresh perspectives on Malayalam language, literature, and effective classroom practices. His thought-provoking interactions encouraged teachers to explore innovative approaches to language teaching while fostering a deeper appreciation for Malayalam literary heritage.
A total of 61 Malayalam teachers from various CBSE schools participated in the programme. The session provided an excellent platform for professional development, collaborative learning, and the exchange of ideas among educators. The enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from the attendees made the programme a meaningful and successful initiative towards enhancing the quality of Malayalam language education.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Thrissur Kendra, in association with Madhuban Educational Books, successfully organized JAGRAN 2026 Phase-2 – Hindi, a Teacher Enrichment Programme, on 25th July 2026 at Bhavan’s S. Ramakrishnan Centre of Excellence, Sarva Dharma Maitri Pratishthan, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Thrissur Kendra. The programme was conducted exclusively for Hindi teachers of CBSE schools in Thrissur, with the objective of enhancing their professional competencies and enriching classroom teaching practices.
The resource person for the programme was Smt. Nirmal Dwivedi, Hindi Education Specialist, Senior Academic Leader, and CBSE Resource Person. Through her engaging sessions, she shared valuable insights into innovative teaching methodologies, competency-based learning, and effective pedagogical strategies aligned with the latest educational practices. The interactive discussions and practical approaches inspired the participants to adopt creative and learner-centric methods in Hindi language teaching.
The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 32 Hindi teachers from various CBSE schools across Thrissur. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Thrissur Kendra, successfully organized a Teacher Training Programme for SSCT Middle School Teachers on 30th July 2026 at Bhavan's S. Ramakrishnan Centre of Excellence. The training programme focused on 'Kaushal Bodh & Kaushal Vikas', with the objective of enhancing teachers' understanding of skill-based education and strengthening their ability to integrate practical learning experiences into classroom teaching.
The session was led by Smt. Chitra S. Nair, Principal, BVBVM Poochatty, who shared valuable insights into the concepts of Kaushal Bodh and Kaushal Vikas. The programme aimed to familiarize teachers with skill-oriented learning approaches, experiential education, and the development of essential competencies among middle school students.

The Foundation for Academic Excellence programme was conducted on 14 August 2026 (Friday) at Bhavan’s S. Ramakrishnan Centre of Excellence, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Thrissur Kendra. The session was led by Shri Balagopal M., Principal, BRM Central School.
The programme focused on enhancing teachers’ professional skills and promoting academic excellence through effective teaching practices. The major topics covered included classroom management, mentoring and student support, time and workload management, strategies for gifted students, and parent and community engagement.

The Classroom to Career training programme was scheduled for 17 August 2026 (Monday) at Bhavan’s S. Ramakrishnan Centre of Excellence, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Thrissur Kendra. The session was led by Shri Shameer C. K., YP Consultant, National Career Service, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.
The programme aimed to equip participants with the skills to identify students’ career interests and guide them towards suitable career opportunities. The major sessions covered the fundamentals of career counselling, career development theories, practical career interest assessments using the RIASEC model, and the scoring and interpretation of assessment results.
The programme also focused on career guidance for gifted and high-ability students, children with special needs, and learners with diverse talents. The sessions highlighted the importance of applying career counselling techniques in teacher–student interactions and helping students make informed career choices.

The programme aimed to enhance teachers' professional competencies and introduce effective approaches to English language teaching and classroom practices.
The session was led by Dr. Arokia David Raj, Educational Leader and English Language Specialist, who shared valuable insights into innovative English language teaching methodologies, effective pedagogical strategies, and learner-centred approaches. The Unravelling the Teen Maze programme was scheduled for 12 September 2026 (Saturday) at Bhavan’s S. Ramakrishnan Centre of Excellence, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Thrissur Kendra. The programme was designed for parents of students in Classes IX to XII.
The programme was led by Dr. Prakash Ramakrishnan, Soft Skill Trainer, Leadership Facilitator, and Success Coach. It focused on helping parents understand the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social changes experienced during adolescence. The major sessions covered understanding adolescence, supporting learning at home, mental health awareness, and digital parenting.
The sessions highlighted effective study routines, independent learning, stress management, emotional resilience, early recognition of emotional distress, online safety, responsible social media use, and the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence. Interactive activities, case discussions, role plays, and family communication exercises were included to encourage active participation.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Thrissur Kendra, organized a Prospective Resource Person Programme on Competency Based Assessment – Science on 18th and 19th September 2026 at Bhavan's S. Ramakrishnan Centre of Excellence. The programme aimed to strengthen the professional competencies of prospective resource persons and enhance their understanding of competency-based assessment practices in Science education.
